Why is it that in Seattle the utility companies have a monopoly on Water, sewer, garbage, and gas? In other cities there is choice and better prices!

I was unhappy with the service at the water company for the city of seattle today. I requested to switch out of their service to their competition. they just laughed and said, you have no choice we are a monopoly! NOt cool.

The stock market finished basically flat for 2011... my investments averaged 12%... I think I will keep doing my own thing! Here's to a great 2012!
